i believe the game is based on the book. even if you see the cover of the book. There's a wolf icon almost like the one of witcher, and the author of the book is Polish, like the guys from CD PROJEKT.
it is older than dragon age... and dragon age was multiplatform so more people have a chance to play im pretty sure if witcher was multi plat it wouldve gotten alot more sales.
oh, and the game is pretty bug-free from what i`ve experienced so far; well, tbh, i haven`t experienced A SINGLE BUG up to now... ofc i`m only in chapter 3 so it`s still time; also, i`m running enhanced edition so there`s a small chance the normal edition has a bug or two, but it`s pretty stable (got 2 crashes so far, but they happen after u play A LOT and the game has autosave anyway; damn windows 7...)
If u read the book "Last Wish", this intro is exactly, word by word, like this intro....really great developers.

Probably the most involved and wonderful experiences I've ever had with a game.
The only game at its level may be Metroid Prime.
Anyways, Geralt is an animal.
The wonderful contrast here is that he's basically more of a monster than the striga is.
His sword is his teeth, etc.

And the books were quite different from what you get in the game.

The mentioned game was loosely based upon Andrzej Sapkowski books - 2 short stories' collections named "Last Wish" and "Sword of Destiny" and 5 parts of "The Witcher Saga". IMO they excel at climate, humour and dialogues, but, in comparison, main plot of the saga is somewhat... disappointing. The game reflects these qualities very well, but dialogues in English premiere edition were significantly shortened. It was later corrected in extended edition - for 1st edition buyers available for free.
It's a game about books.
