Among them the Volkssturm local leader and the Deputy Mayor of Leipzig with his wife and daughter, who committed suicide in the Neues Rathaus as American troops were entering the city. The city's Mayor and his family also killed themselves. In Leipzig GIs scouted the deserted Rathaus (City Hall) and reported as follow : "There's some civilian stiffs upstairs." In his solid mayoral chair sat Oberbürgermeister Alfred Freiberg, his sightless eyes fixed on the carved ceiling. In armchairs beside him, waxen-faced in death, sat his matronly wife and bespectacled daughter. In an adjoining room Stadtkämmerer (City Treasurer) Kurt Lisso, his wife and daughter also sat in poisoned death. The rigid bodies of four Volkstürmers sprawled in other offices. Two, it was plain, had sat across a table, sipping brandy until one had drunk enough to pick up a machine pistol, shoot his comrade and then himself. 16mm Kodachrome rarely seen footage filmed by the 69th Infantry Division Combat-Camera-Unit. Germany is stricken by a series of unprecedented waves of suicides during the final days of the Nazi regime. (headphones required due to lower frequencies) Here's a brief first look at the Analogue Solutions Leipzig-s analogue synthesizer: analoguesolutions.org.uk This beast of a synth represents the latest in Analogue Solutions' Leipzig line and incorporates a vast number of new features, most notably the 8-step on-board sequencer which can be synced and controlled in a vast number of innovative ways (midi, LFO, VCO, etc.) This video serves as a first glimpse of the synth - yes, it's a teaser. The evolving sound uses the Leipzig's on-board step sequencer, however the pitch of the notes is controlled via MIDI. The sequencer can also be stepped manually via a MIDI keyboard. Sequencer reset is handled via accent (or using heavy velocity on a MIDI note). A beat was added to provide some context for the evolving bass line. Details: *Pure analogue voice and modulation circuitry. *Fat Moog style filter. *2 VCOs with Glide and Sub-VCOs. *Osc Sync & Cross-Mod *Plenty of modulation routing possibilities. *Analogue step sequencer -- with plenty of clocking options. *Audio input so can be used as a sound processor. *Rugged steel/aluminium construction. *MIDI In for software sequencer control.
